Plank Double Tap
Raised plank hold with alternating double hand taps utilising Shapes cue (2x cues/repetition).
Multi Cues: Number (grid, clock, freeform), Colour (4-square) and Shape app cues can be set to give multiple cues (2-5) of the same type per repetition. For example, this Plank Tap variation utilises 2 Shapes cues per repetition.
Static plank hold with hand taps (alternating hands).
Shapes cue = Hand tap to shape marker (2x cues/repetition).
Environment Constraints: Raised plank, marker placement, pace.
Task Constraints: Hold plank position; hand tap to shape marker, alternating hands.
Exercise Design Notes: Offload alternating hand, maintaining central stability, random order of Shape markers to add cognitive load.
Regression/Progression: Raise/lower plank, pace, marker range/number, use numbers in sequence instead of random shapes cues, use single cue.
Note on Shapes Cues: Each Shape cue has two design elements, a shape (circle, square, triangle) and a colour (red, blue, yellow, green). This dual elements of the Shapes cue can add more cognitive load compared to Number and simple Colour cues.
